Of the top 5 most posted jobs Mechanical Design Engineers are still commanding the highest salary at £45k. Across the smaller posting volumes we can see Electrical Engineer (£44k) salaries dropping in the last 6 months as well as Site Engineers (£63k). Apart from senior sub-disciplies of Directing and Management, Project Management £58k and Aerospace £52k are over the £50k mark.

Of the 129,755 IT candidates on Totaljobs active within the past 6 months 65% are in London and South East, with 9% in the North West. Of the top most posted jobs Data Engineers (£57k) are earning more than Software Engineers (£54k) while Senior Software Engineers earn the most (£65k). Specialist .Net Developers are the only other role to claim over £55k. Sub-disciplines like Architecting at £72k, SAP at £60k, Software Development and Management at £56k are higher still.

Of the top most posted jobs, Technical Managers have the highest average salary at £57k (up £2k in last 6 months) and all other jobs except Phlebotomists are posting higher average salaries. Sub-disciplines of Data Science, Technology and Consulting are the three posting average salaries over £45k.
