Of the 75,305 engineering candidates on Totaljobs active within the past 6 months 53% are in London and South East, with 12% in the North West. Of the top 5 most posted jobs Mechanical Design Engineers are still commanding the highest salary at £45k - with a slight trending salary decrease. Across the smaller posting volumes we can see Service Engineers and Quality Engineers fall out of the top 5 over the last 3 months, being replaced by Electrical and Project Engineers. Apart from senior sub-disciplies of Directing and Management, Project Management £60k (average salary up £2k) and Aerospace £53k are over the £50k mark.

IT & Technology
Of the 132,471 IT candidates on Totaljobs active within the past 6 months 65% are in London and South East, with 8% in the North West. Of the top most posted jobs Data Engineers (£58k) are earning more than .Net Developers (£56k) while Senior Software Engineers earn the most (£66k). The last 3 months have seen an increase in .Net Developer job posting volumes too - nearly double in last 6 months than in July-Dec 2024. Sub-dsciplines like Architecting at £73k, SAP at £62k, Software Development at £57k and Database at £56k are all over £55k too.

Of the 26,733 candidates on Totaljobs active within the past 6 months 59% are in London and South East, with 10% in the North West. Of the top most posted jobs, Technical Managers have the highest average salary at £57k and all other jobs except are posting higher average salaries in the last 3 months. Sub-disciplines of Data Science, Technology and Consulting are still posting average salaries over £45k with Physics rising to £47k across the last 6 month from being £43k in Jul - Dec 2024.

Finance
Of the 37,389 candidates on Totaljobs active within the past 6 months 63% are in London and South East, with 10% in the North West. Of the most posted jobs, it's Finance Managers that top the chart and the whole sector is seeing increased average salaries again over the last 3 months. Sub-disciplines of Project Management, Reporting, Directing are all over £55. Interestingly, in the last 6 months Merger and Aquisition had dropped to a £52k average from £55k in July-Dec 2024.
